The BlueChart is A4 size, printed on card stock (220gr per m3). It has a total of 15 pages with ring binding. (Not laminated).
A compilation of key information for the gemologist:
- to analyze the results obtained with all the standard gemological tools
- to distinguish between natural and treated gemstones, synthesis and imitations
- to avoid traps and potentially misleading results
Gemstones listed by refractive index
- Clear reading of optical and physical data.
- Visual help to point out quickly characteristic features.
- Natural colors are reproduced.

- to identify the gem as natural, synthetic or imitation;
- to recognize possible treatments;
- to prevent misidentification (overlapping values).

Density followed by optical data make possible a basic identification of most gemstones
Key information from the other tables will confirm and specify the identification when necessary.
NOTE: The First Edition does not contain the Spectrums and Dichroscope information contained in the later editions but still provides a wealth of information for the gemmologist.
