The S181 belt is coated with consistantly graded silicon cabide particles and has a waterproof polyester backing. This makes them highly durable when used correctly. Light pressure and plenty of water are recommended.

Silicon carbide belts can be used wet or dry, but for sanding gemstones we highly recommend using them wet. This will reduce dust, keep the stone cooler, and extend the life of the belt.
