SHELLAC FLAKES
100 Grams
Shellac is used in lapidary as an adhesive and is also used in wax. Wax with higher shellac content is used in faceting as it has a higher melting point.
Shellac flakes are soaked in alcohol (or Metholated Spirits) until dissolved. then the mixture is painted on to your stone and allowed to dry. It is more commonly used when faceting, but works just as well for cabbing.
It helps the wax stick to your stone without having to heat the stone first.
These high quality shellac flakes are also suitable for woodworking purposes. Shellac functions as a tough natural primer, sanding sealant, tannin-blocker, odour-blocker, stain, and high-gloss varnish.
