Siamite Faceting Rough

Siamite® is the product name for a lab-grown material that consists of glass matrix and nanometer-size crystalline particles that are grown within the matrix.

It has unique physical and optical properties, such as high thermal shock resistance, high refractive index and homogeneous coloring that makes it ideal for specialized industrial applications.

Siamite® was introduced to the international markets in 2010 after Formica received patents to create and market lab-grown glass-ceramic crystals, becoming the first company to do so.

Siamite® is lead free and in compliance to the strictest regulatory industry norms and laws regarding the restriction or prohibition of certain substances.

Siamite®  takes a high polish using Cerium Oxide with a prepolish of between 3000 to 8000 diamond spary on a copper lap. The Cerium final polish can be used with traditional oxide friendly laps such as lucite or phenolic. It can also be final polished using Cerium Oxy Laps. The quckest and best results can be achieved using a Cerium Lightning Lap.
