These bags of silicon carbide powders are ideal for topping up grit kits and the most economical way to purchase grit for larger tumblers and lapping jobs.

Silicon carbide powder is available in two grades. It can be loosely graded or finely graded.

Loosely graded silicon carbide can comprise of a range of grits and can be purchased for example as 60/90 grit. This is a mix of grits between 60 and 90.

We only sell finely graded silicon carbide.

This provides much better results, particularly when you get to the finer stages of tumbling or lapping. It does not leave rogue scratches on your work pieces that will take time and energy to remove.

Hi. First of all after payment, the package arrived very well packed, and within 3 or 4 days. I am an enthusiastic knife sharpener and after wearing out 2 ATOMA #140 grit diamond plates using them to flatten #120 up to #1000 grit whetstones I was recommended to use SiC powder as a cheaper and also a much better result.
